Safe or unsafe? +Prep

Post by Reet » Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:42 pm

1. Is coriander or turmeric safe?
2. Should I cook my herbs before serving? They are without chemicals from the local Wildflower which is natural herbs or from the garden, all dehydrated and canned.
3. One of my foods had copper sulfate, a flukers pellet and mealworm/dried shrimp mix. I took out the mealworm and shrimp but I'm wondering would the whole food thing be treated with it or just the pellets? I might play it safe and throw them.
4. Can they eat mullen?
5. Should I wear sterile gloves when preparing food or is soap and water enough
6. How often can they have sugary things like honey or fruit
7. Cranberries?

Not sure about those spices.
No, you don't have to cook herbs. They can be fed fresh or dried.
If copper sulfate is in the ingredients, it's probably in everything in the package.
Mullen?
No, they for sure don't need anything prepared in a sterile manner. If I pick things from my yard and garden, I often don't even wash them LOL.
They can have fruit an honey daily.
Cranberries should be safe.

If you haven't checked the 'nutrition' care sheet, be sure to read through it. Tons of good info!

Can you link the nutrition sheet? I have the list but haven't heard of a care guide. Also Mullen is a medicinal herb and is commonly uses in teas and tinctures. Image
This is one that hasn't flowered yet, and I also have dried.

Here is our nutrition guide - as stated, it's a bit old and some of the info may be a bit outdated, but it is a good solid reference:
