I didn't know they could have those. Do your crabs seem to enjoy them?

They were a first try for my hermies. They are an edible salad green for humans and I know they'll ignore them if they find them too spicy or otherwise not to their liking, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I fed the stems and leaves and they appeared nibbled on when I removed the dish the next evening. I plan to try them a few more times to get more evidence that they're eating them.

I'll update back to let you know how it goes. :)

Try number two for radish greens & stems was successful! My hermies definitely ate quite a bit of both the stems and leaves.

Here's what I fed them:

Coconut chunks
Raw Asparagus
Radish Leaves and Stems
Crickets
Banana

The banana, coconut and radish were strewn about the tank, mostly eaten. The asparagus was nibbled slightly and only cricket legs and bits remained in the dish.

*All foods are organic & additive free. My hermit crabs also have access to a homemade dried food blend at all times as well as a millet spray to nibble.

After reading about DragonTear's hermits enjoying radish greens I'm trying them with my crabs. Also in the food dishes are: blueberries, blackberries, petunias, pansies, honeysuckle, Nori, and Walnuts. :)

Let me know how it goes Calla! I'm really interested to see if your crabs like the radish leaves too.

I gave my hermies some fresh red clover today. :) First of the season!

Blue Malva and Spriluna anyone?

The crablettes are having:

Steak strips sauteed in EVOO, Coconut Cream, and Tahitian Algae paste
Walnuts softened in said sautee sauce
Fresh Mango
Healthy-Herp Freeze Dried Box Turtle Food (grasshopper, mealworms, strawberries, bananas, dandelion greens, corn, carrots, beef, calendula--all rehydrated)

...with a fresh refill of worm poop and live sand in the 'ol supplement dish...along with their lava stone that has magically appeared again! *yeay!*
