I put three food shells down last night. One with oats, cornmeal, the other with tiny shrimp and slices of grapes and the last one had mango from one of our trees in the yard.....Oh my gosh let me just tell you that the mango was a huge hit. The little guys dragged it all over the place during the night.
Just because I have crabs does not mean we can't be friends.
Dried foods to discourage fruit flies: greens (mix of spring greens, dandelion, kale, clover, and cilantro), raspberries, green apple, strawberry, flower mix (rose petals, dandelion, honeysuckle, lilac), mealworms, and crickets.
Tonight they have a homemade dry diet (food processor meal made of 1 cup walnuts, 1 cup oats, 1 cup brown rice, 1/4 cup dry raw seaweed, and 4 tbsp calcium powder), some soaked dashi kombu seaweed, and organic carrots and kale.
I gave them a frozen hornworm I chopped in half, crabby cookies I make myself and homemade mango baby food.
The cookies were a huge hit and they ate some of the mango baby food and hornworm but after the hornworm thawed it got blood everywhere in the dish it was really nasty.
