Cultured cabbage ok to feed to my crabs?
Cultured cabbage ok to feed to my crabs?
I eat cultured cabbage and I was wondering if it would be safe to feed to my hermit crabs on occasion as a treat. It just contains cabbage, sea salt and carraway seeds. It tastes similar to sauerkraut but has no vinegar since the sour taste comes from being cultured with beneficial bacteria. The crabs might not even like it but I thought that the beneficial bacteria might be good to offer to them. Thoughts? Would it be ok?

I don't see why not. Let us know if they like it.

I'll try it on their next treat day and post the results. My dog thinks that it's great stuff and he won't touch normal sauerkraut, because he doesn't like vinegar, so maybe that's a good sign that the crabs will like it lol

Haha I only give him a tiny bit. Just enough to taste really.
