From everything i've read, tun or ton\tonna (?) and these which are called muffin tops are all on the same boat... that is they're all relatively ignored for the sake of comfort. Magpies and Pica shells curve funny as is and are as you put it 'tolerated' but these are flatter, with less outward direction with such a tight curve making them uncomfortable!! To put in into perspective, a nautilus is only a smidge more uncomfy than a muffin top and not a single shell i mentioned just now was a turbo or turban which are waaaaay more accepted throught most colonies and species.

Pepper is safe.

They are not muffin shells - those are wide and flat. These are more like a puffy apple snail. I have one new adoptee in one, and he seemed happy enough to bypass the turbos to molt in it. I was offered more and turned them down, and now I wonder if I should have tried them! They are known as just 'escargot shells', best I can tell.

I wonder if crabs eat a piece of peppercorn and makes a sour cross-eyed look like babies and lemons XD That's just cute!

I wouldn't feed it to the crabs personally. You don't know what kind of pesticides or chemicals they used.

They wouldn't have put pesticides or chemicals in the escargot as they are meant for human consumption. The ingredients are listed on the tin, however I think OP was also inquiring because you could put the shells in the crabitat for your smaller guys. Image

They still put both in human food. Its allowed for human consumption as long as ots a low enough level of both. So it might be fine for them but given the they are smaller I wouldn't be sure.
