I swear I bought the raptors from Jurassic Park (the goat part where it's there one second, gone the next), the new jumbos nearly eat my hand they LOVE food so much. They seem to have picked up on what time I change the food out because they stand in a circle around the dish and wait for it. Tonight the "raptors" are having:

sweet potato
sardines
raspberries
apple
bell pepper
and for a rare treat, plain popcorn

mine usually doesn't jump on the food when i put it in, he'll eventually go check it out but he doesn't like see it coming and run for it. except today when I threw in a maple leaf. i've never seen him do this... i wanted something to keep him occupied while i rearranged and cleaned up a bit and changed his water so i just propped the leaf up in the corner of the tank thinking he *might* go check it out if there's nothing else in the tank. but my hand was barely off it and he practically ran to it, yanked it down and started chowing down. too funny. went about my business cleaning out his dishes and shells and whatnot, added some fresh substrate and then was getting ready to put the dishes and everything back into the tank. the leaf was right over the area where i put the water so i go to move it over and it doesn't budge. i tug it a little and he tugs back! he had a death grip with his smaller claw. so i had a bit of fun with him and had a little tug of war match lol then finally just picked him up and moved him instead, and he still didn't let go of the leaf. it was too funny i was cracking up. who knew a leaf would be so exciting. he did quite a bit of damage haha. no interest in the rest of what i put in after, though i think he did pick at it a little before going back to the leaf. repeat of yesterday he got a bit of tofu, broccoli floret and leaf, mushroom, carrot and his usual dry mix and i tossed in a piece of eggshell for something different
i need to make up a list of things he does and doesn't go nuts for to refer back to lol. or i think i'll just print out the safe foods list and highlight all the stuff he seems to really like ^_^

My hermies were not left out in the Thanksgiving meal...and no I didn't have crab for dinner lol.

Turkey on the bone w/skin (while it's not listed on the safe foods list that I saw, I figure it's close enough to chicken to be ok)
Green beans
carrots
corn
peas
celery
cranberries

Happy Thanksgiving from the crabbies and me :)

I go out of my way to make a nice hermie omelet and what does Mega do? Eat sand...what a brat.

The omelet is made of egg (obviously), herring, and oysters...with a side of nuked eggshells and a blackberry for dessert. Herring isn't on either of the lists but so far I've fed it twice and they seem to be fine.

The stinky stuff is always the best liked...

I ran out of dog food so I had to make the dogs homemade dinner for tonight until I can get to the store tomorrow. The hermies had the same thing since it is all safe.

Brown rice
eggs
tuna (no salt)
carrots
peas
green beans
corn

My dog usually will not eat green beans or any vegetables lol BUT he ate them all! I caught Moguera parked in the middle of the pile of rice chowing down. When he saw me he fell over backwards out of the dish lol

I am kind of a beginner and was just told last week that the flakes and stuff at the pet store are not good for them. I have been trying new things. I tried bananas and grapes so far and they didn't touch it which surprised me since a few people have said their crabs love bananas. Tonight we are trying hard boiled eggs.
