Mine like turkey too. I fry up some ground turkey for the fam and save them a bit unseasoned and it is always well received.

Im a vegetarian but have raw fed cats and a dog so they get freeze dried, dried and dehydrated meats. They did get some cooked bacon and each just stopped and eat it! Lol.

Bacon is usually loaded in nitrites which are not good for crustaceans or other pets. The smoking process as well can impart not so great chemical compounds into the meat. It isn't considered very good for humans as it is and it should be avoided in our companions for their health. Same goes for ham.
And just so it gets said, deli meats are generally no good either. They are marinated in nitrites and other preservatives. Once upon a time they were real cold-cut pieces of meat, but today almost all are heavily processed. The sodium levels alone can cause health issues for dogs and cats.
(I am a former deli girl, and I rarely ever eat the stuff after being able to read the labels and nutrition info!)

It was not smoked and is organic. Also deli meat is considered unsafe for pregnant women for your listed reasons; unless heated over a specific temperature. So i figured cooking it very well is fine. Also in the year i have had three of my pps they have had bacon twice. My two newer males have haf it once. I personally believe its about sourcing and moderation. They also dont eat any other packaged meats or foods. Same idea as added salt and sugar being bad but some owners using organic peanut butter with 1-5% added salt or sugar. Thank you for the information for myself and other though.
