Ooh, good to know! Do you prep it in any way, or chuck it in straight from the store?CrabbyCakes wrote:Oh my gosh. I gave my guys a crawfish and they are loving it! I have not seen them go to town like this before. They are really cheap so it looks like I have a good inexpensive protein source for them.

Yesterday and the day before : avocado, scrambled egg in a shell, fresh blueberries diced. I don't think they ate any of the avocado, maybe no blueberries either. The egg lover is buried. None of my guys like honey or worm castings, and only eat it if it's the only thing left.
Today: scrambled eggs in shells, HCP protein mix, HCP calcium supplement and minced fresh apples.
They also have oak branches and moss in the tank.

The tides were so low I found a pocket of clams right on the shore!! I don't eat seafood so I just grabbed a couple for my hermies and added it to their buffet.

Those are all great foods! Just try to make sure they are also offered an animal protein each day. A tiny piece of unseasoned meat from your dinner would work fine either cooked or raw.bbcraft22 wrote:Almonds

Last night I gave my crabs fresh peaches and apricots, I wonder how they like it, I'll check when I get back home.

Seaweed, strained unprocessed rain forest honey, toasted coconut, crushed walnuts, crushed oyster shells and HCP surf n turf. I swear, sometimes it seems our hermits eat better than us!

Tonight they had mealworms, freeze dried shrimp, seaweed, quinoa/rice mix. They LOVED the red grape and didn't even touch the green. I'm thinking tomorrow night is eggs and eggshells, carrots, and shrimp tails

Tonight the hermies are having fresh banana, chia seeds, ground flax seeds, and mealworms, all dusted with cuttlebone powder.

Fresh from the source, nice! I tried a couple of store bought ones once. And what a spread you have there! I remember back when I first got hermit crabs and tried to offer them three things at each meal, how far I've come since then, lol.DinoJax wrote:The tides were so low I found a pocket of clams right on the shore!!
