Frozen krill thawed and sprinkled with sea salt water and green, brown and red seaweed. On the side is a slive of mango. It's all sprinkled with a dried kibble.

Is FMR food really that bad?

Mine was getting one dish dry FMR food, one dish dry flower and fruit hermit crab food, one dish with fresh food: frozen mix of corn, broccoli, red pepper defrosted with some fresh pineapple. I will instantly remove the FMR food...is it really that bad for them? Yesterday they had cooked shrimp on a bed of lettuce and avocado. I always gave the dry foods separately along with my fresh food, but after reading this maybe I should stop.

What we had for dinner... hehe... and a little added...

(I used dechlor sea salt water for all their stuff... I just separated out a little bit before I made up ours and then did the crabbies dinner separate at the end.)

boiled cod (SORRY Bundy! )
steamed corn
boiled potatoes (we had mashed potatoes...)
sprinkled with Epicurean kibble
sprinkled with a dry kibble I mixed up (lots of cuttlebone)

Took all of 5 min to have 3 E's stuffing their little faces. Then as I was walking away 2 PP's came over and pushed the E's out. Hehe... I have two dishes in there... dunno WHY they insist on fighting over one.

Here’s a new recipe that my crabs really went for tonight:
1. Spread bottom of dish with tahini paste (sesame seed paste)
2. Mix chopped shrimp and egg scrambled with spirulina powder, add to dish
3. Mix marigold petals and yellow bell pepper, add to dish
4. Sprinkle everything with dried, crushed coconut

I wanted a lot of fresh foods in the mix tonight because I’m going on vacation for a few days, so here’s what they got:

Salmon, silversides, krill, apple, scrambled egg with spirulina, green peppers, sunflower sprouts, papaya, crushed hemp seeds, crushed flax seeds and sea salt.

I put it all into a jar, shook it up together and put it into the food dish. It smells awful, it looks awful…so of course the crabs love it.

I can't speak for Laura, but I found one at our Petco (ours is green). That's in the states though. :(

Hang on one minute...here we go!

Dish from Petco

I don't know if they ship internationally, but maybe this'll help you locate a similar product?

EDIT: Heh...great minds and all that! :) You were just a smidge quicker with the "linky" stuff.
