broccoli?

Post by hermitcrab24 » Fri Jan 02, 2015 6:44 pm

Hello,
So I went to Sprouts today, and we got a veggie tray. It had broccoli in it and I was wondering if the crabs could eat it. The tray doesn't say it's organic, I don't know if there is even such thing as organic broccoli.

Thanks'
Bonnie

Broccoli is fine! My guys like it raw or steamed. Organic is preferable but not always practical so I think it's fine to use..just give it a good rinse first.

My PPs enjoy raw broccoli, broken into small pincher-sized bits, but really love raw cauliflower!

Okay, thank you! I am trying really hard to give them more variety.
They didn't like the egg shells I tried :(

For being scavengers, they can be darn picky. Lol. Mine like ground beef but only if it's raw. They like scrambled egg in the shell but not just raw egg shell. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Have you given them an eggshell with albumin? Mine just go crazy for the raw egg white and then pick away at the edges of the shell. I also grind up eggshells as part of their dry mix.

Yes, one of my first crabs, Buddy (who passed away), had an attitude! He took the food and threw it all over the sand. Did he eat it? Nope

I first gave them a rinsed out eggshell, then tried a non rinsed one with the slimy stuff at the top (I don't know if that was albumin).
