Is bacon ok?

Post by Lburns » Sun Feb 08, 2015 11:43 pm

Is uncured bacon ok for crabs?

The safe list says "pork (no ham". I'm curious about that as well...is it too salty?
4 PPs. Crabbing since Sept. 2014. Batman - Found as a stray (holy crab!) (2 molts). Killer Croc (1 molt). Man-Bat (1 molt). Lex Luthor (1 molt).
RIP Robin (did not survive 1st molt).

I think it is too salty. The meats are all unseasoned and untreated meats. So like beef is good, beef jerky not so good (unless you dry it yourself).

I've never offered bacon but I do very, very occasionally give them a fatty bit of ham. They love it. Honestly, I never realized the list specified "no ham". :crabblush:
