I was browsing the HCP and found Fluker's Hermit Crab color Enhancer it comes in purple and red

Are these crab safe? The purple one contains salt,I'm unsure if it is table salt.Do they work?Has anyone tried them? Thanks!
Hahaha! That's actually quite true!I may want to try it out with my purple n red ruggie.sofiaee wrote:The ingredients are very simple, you could always just feed them those items yourself
What kind of salt do they use?It does seem quite expensive for a small bottle........megmaholm wrote:As far as I know, they're safe. Salt isn't bad for them, you just don't want to use table salt in their water dishes.Personally I think they're kind of expensive and I don't know how much they actually help a crab's color since so much of it is genetic, but it's at least a nice treat for them.
That's strange,I was on amazon and it showed the exact same ingredients!wodesorel wrote:I don't think those ingredient lists are correct, or it's a different product that what is being offered here. I've seen these at my local pet store and salt was not listed. Online stores in the USA have them as:
Red Ingredients:
Dried watermelon, dried red bell pepper, dried carrot, dried strawberry, dried orange bell pepper.
Purple Ingredients:
Dried blueberries, dried purple grapes, dried eggplant, dried cherries.
BTW, I do think the price is good. Dried items cost a lot more since you start with a pound of something fresh and end up with a couple of ounces (if you're lucky!) after a day of drying. That little bottle could feed a single crab daily for at least a year.
Ah, good point. I think the bottle looks a smaller than it is. I just haven't seen it in person and I'm bad at visualizing sizes. I retract my statement then!wodesorel wrote:BTW, I do think the price is good.
