I keep dubia's as pets and when one dies, can I give them to the crabs? Will they eat them? Lol.

You want to feed a dead pet to another pet? That is a bit disturbing. Lol

Wodesorel breeds roaches and scorpions and could probably answer that. People raise crickets to feed their pets so I wouldn't think other insects would be different unless they were toxic to the crabs. I could be wrong though.

It's more likely that the other dubia will finish off any that die before you can find them. But yeah, the crabs will definitely eat a dead roach with pleasure! They really like dead crickets as well, and they get whatever is in the bottom of my cricket bin since I keep some on hand at all times for my frog. The only issue for you the human may be the smell - the smell of dead exotic roach is stomach turning, it's among the worst things I've ever encountered.

(When you have animals that eat other animals, the idea of feeding one pet to another becomes less of a problem. To me at least. I don't like to let a death be in vain. If one accidental or natural death can lead to another life's survival, I'm okay with that.)

If the dubia dies of natural causes, it might as well go for food for another animal rather than be thrown away.

I'm not judging lol just had the image of my bird dying years ago. As much as my cat would have loved a birdie snack I couldn't have done it. That is how my crazy brain works and why it disturbed me. Roaches aren't the same but the image in my head gave me quite the shudder.

I breed Dubia but would never give a dead one to the crabs. I just throw them away. It's a little sad when I find dead females:p

Though, mine don't smell bad when they die. I also keep the tub super clean since I also had a German Roach infestation.

I would probably be more attached to a bird than I am to the roaches, which is why it doesn't really bother me. Circle of life.
