Making "Food Cubes"

Post by Asheka » Wed Apr 29, 2015 4:14 pm

So, in getting closer to getting my crabs, I want to get some foods done up, like frozen ice cubes of mixed up stuffs. I'm wondering, as my blender sucks without a good amount of liquid, what would be best to use? I don't want to use water and have everything drowning when it melts, but am not sure what would be best.

Do you have a food processor? I bought one for making bird food & it works great for chopping up veggies & greens! I'm planning on doing this as well to supply my crabbies with veggies. I'm going to make two different veggie cubes. One with corn, broccoli, peas, dandelion, and cilantro and the other one will have carrots, peppers, squash, sweet potato, and parsley. First cube is more protein-oriented, the second one is more vitamin & beta carotene oriented. :)

I bought my food processor at the dollar store for $10. It is really small but gets the job done.

Really?! I know ours don't have those here sadly, but maybe I can find a cheap one online or at Walmart. Until then, maybe the juices from frozen mango and frozen brine shrimp etc will be enough...

 doesn't it though? I'm picking up some frozen bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp tomorrow. I need the bloodworms for my frog, but I believe they're safe too, right?

Awesome! I don't understand why they're twice the price of the bloodworms, but oh well, they're worth it.
