Feeding food

I gave my hermit crab an egg shell and now im trying to figure out how to fix a potato for them i threw away the pellets any help is great do i peel it or just cut peices and put it in there

They really need animal protein sources. Eggshell is good for calcium and you can even scramble or hard boil an egg by itself with no salt or seasonings and give it to them. I've never actually given my crabs potato, I'd have to recheck the Safe List and see if they like it. Try dried crickets, pieces of fruit, bits of veggies, pieces of meat before they have been cooked or seasoned...I will link the safe food list below. If potato is on it you can just wash it in dechlorinated water and cut a small piece off and put it in the tat.

Potato is safe but no eyes or green parts.
