Coral from Mexico...

Post by Rawrgeous » Thu Feb 25, 2016 10:58 pm

My mother law recently gave me some coral from a cruise she went on. It should be safe in the tank as a calcium supplement right? :) just curious.

If its the hard coral it should be fine after a good wash. However if it's the soft coral, I'd leave it out or try and keep it as dry as possible. That way, it reduces the chance for it to go all yucky and mould.

I have a few chunks of coral in my tank that I got off the beaches in the Bahamas years ago. Mine just kind of kick it around and bury it lol  Give them a sugar star fish though and that sucker is completely eaten in a few days!

I just figured it's cool decor, gives it a "beachy" feel lol. So far no interest has been taken.

Mrs. Robinson will probably move it around....cuz that's what she does..make me crazy be moving everything possible!...or digging it into a sinkhole. Lol and possibly nibble, she loves the cuttlebone and eating the oyster shell I sprinkle. :)
