Bacon?

I have checked the foods list and wanted to know if bacon was safe for crabs. I ask because my hubs recently started to make bacon at home and curing it himself and you have to put all kinds of stuff on it. Do you all feed it to your crabbies? I always have and they love it but now I am not sure.

I would keep it to a minimum, as high salt isn't good for them, and bacon contains several preservatives...that being said, bacon made in your home is probably safer than store bought. Generally the guideline is no added salt or seasoning for food from our kitchen, but I sneak them a corn chip here and there.

I don't recommend any preserved human-grade meats due to the nitrates (naturally occurring or otherwise) and other ingredients that have to be added to keep it safe to eat. It's borderline okay for us, but for them it's completely unnatural and could overdose them.
Fresh pork they love! Especially bits of fat.

Thanks for the guidance. They will have to suffer eating plain pork
