Chia Seeds

Hi everyone, yesterday I bought Chia seeds since I've been reading on here that the crabs love them and they are safe. I have 2 questions: #1 do they have to be the edible or plantable kind and
#2 is this kind okay for them??

This is the ready to eat kind.

Thank you for your help.

If they are edible i believe they would be less likely to be dangerous Im sure they will plant too!!

Awesome! Thank You! I was going to sprinkle them under the tree like a garden.

Soaking the chia will make them germinate, but it's not necessary, I've done it both ways, and I prefer not soaking because they don't look clumpy growing the way they do when soaked.

Thank you for your help. I think I'm going to put them down without soaking them. Sounds like it might look better!

So I also bought some organic chia seeds from Trader joes I give them. I tried planting them in the tank but nothing ever grew. Do you have to do something special?
