HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I have a question about Acid and salt. Are acidic foods such as Pineapple and Citruses ok? and also, in other places I have read the crabs like saltines and peanut butter. can I get normal or Wheat saltines or should I get salt-free ones? I am going to get hermit crabs soon; I have the tank set up but I still need shells before I can get the crabs themselves.
