HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I saw in the gerbil section at Rural King there is a product that is just apple orchard sticks. I was wondering if this would be alright to try out with my crabs? I haven't seen anything mention it, and I don't have the time to research the effects on insects because it is finals week. Thoughts?
