Can you feed your hermits live insects?

Hello!
I was looking at the safe food list for hermits. And I saw crickets, and I just wanted to know if I could feed the crabs live ones or would they have to be dried like dried shrimp.

They have trouble catching things that move too fast. Prekilled crickets or ones that have just died are loved by hermits though! Mine have also gone crazy for live mealworms in a bowl before, but you have to make sure they can't escape.

Plus, you wouldn't want them to breed in your crabitat!!!

Thank you sm!! That's what I was thinking about killing the crickets then feeding it to them. You think I can get like meal worms at my local petco?

If you have a reptile section, I would bet my life savings - which isn't much! - that there is some feeder insects there.

If your Petco sells reptiles, yes. My local one only carries feeder fish and small rodents, and the only live insect they have is crickets. (In this funny little blacked out bin so they can't be seen.)

I also have it on good authority that the bait mealworms and waxworms that Dick's sells are the same thing as what the petstores sell, and for much less. My store is always out of everything so I've never had a chance to find out.

But mostly every pet store will at least have crickets. Everything else is usually chance on what they have left in stock.

i will do live when im feeling spunky. i freeze the insect tho. just gotta watch it will not kill them unless you do it for a week or more so in the hot tank they may come back to life. personally its more hassle than its worth. look into chicken insects. i personally use Add a bug little farmer ( https://www.amazon.com/Little-Farmer-Me ... B01NAIVT7I ) and Happy Hen Treats, Mealworm Frenzy (https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Hen-Treats ... hen+treats)
