Household items to feed hermits
I have had my hermit crabs for about a month so far and have done extensive research into them (after buying unfortunately) and was tricked into the whole idea of "one scoop of pellets per hermit per week is perfect!" And I've come to the realisation I probably need to give them proper food as well as protein which I'm having a hard time finding without spending money to buy specific products. Any household things every kitchen would have that would supply hermits wth ample protein?

Re: Household items to feed hermits
I usually feed from my kitchen minus bugs, moss and calcium sources such as cuttlebone and crushed coral and here's what I feed:
For protein meats such as small pieces of chicken(raw or cooked without condiments or spices, still on the bone is preferably), fish(raw or cooked, again no condiments or spices) ,crushed up nuts such as peanuts or almonds.
Organic fruits and veggies are important too
Organic honey as a healing food or treat
(Idk if you have coconut oil in your kitchen but thats another good one)
Eggshells(calcium) and eggs(protein)

And remember to rotate the food so they don't bored of what they're eating! Variety is the spice of life especially for them! They eat is small amounts so a little goes a long way.
