Banana Peppers
My garden produced a ton of banana peppers, and I was wondering if they were okay to feed to the crabs plain (not pickled.) I couldn't find much about how they affect insects, just stuff about how to keep insects away from them. I'm assuming that means they would be alright but I would like to double check.

Re: Banana Peppers
Mine always loved all types of peppers, including the hot ones. I have had them in my dry food samplers and mixes for years.

Re: Banana Peppers
Thank you! I haven't given them anything other than bell peppers which was towards the beginning of me owning crabs. I hope they like them, they probably will considering my step brother tried a plain one and said it tastes like dirt.wodesorel wrote:Mine always loved all types of peppers, including the hot ones. Re: Banana Peppers
By hot you mean like habanero peppers and such because I have tons of them that go to waste because we are unable to eat the quantity my yard produces

Yep! I maced myself one year powdering up those little fancy hot peppers for the hermits. Crabs loved the stuff, but I haven't been able to get near a dry pepper since!

Ohhhh I didn't know they could have hot peppers! My inlaws grow several different kinds in their yard without chemicals. I might have to try giving my guys some! Do they prefer them dry?

Mine do, but that doesn't mean yours won't like them better fresh. Crabs can be extremely picky.

Re: Banana Peppers
Any thoughts on the safety of dry red chilli peppers? With the general pro pepper stuff im hearing im guessing were in the clear.

As far as ginger..I've never seen that on the safe list. I don't give it to my hermits.
