Fuzzy oats

Hello
I feed my PPs before I go to bed because they tend to eat while I'm sleeping. Recently I started giving them rolled oats which they love.... but when I wake up in the morning and go to toss out the food they didn't finish, the oats have fuzzy/spider webby looking stuff on them. :/ could it be because the tank is humid? Is this mold? Should I only give rolled oats when I'm awake and can take it soon after their done?

It could be mold. As long as you throw it out as soon as you can, they should be ok. Also, check the tank for any they could have carried away. Our crabs sometimes take the food with them!

Mold is not harmful to crabs and if you gave them dried rolled oats and they got soggy due to tank humidity this isn't going to hurt anything.

Hermit crabs are scavengers. They feed on rotting/decaying plant and animal matter.

I feed my crabs maybe 1-2 times a week. I put a variety of food in their huge dish and change it out when it gets nasty.

It's not necessary to remove food daily unless you have fruit flies or an abundance of food mites.
