So I finally was able to get a friend for Hermine the new one does not yet have a name. I was finally able to mix eco earth with sand to make the right subtrate. I got a climbing background but had to take it out until I can fix it because Hermine was stuck behind it tonight. :(
Right now I still leave some pelets in the tank because I'm still trying to figure out food. I have been putting in fresh veggies but I'm looking for something that will last longer. My family doesn't eat fruit or veggies so I'm buying them for my crabbies but they go bad quickly. I want my crabs to have all the nutrients they need.ImageImageImageImage

I recommend if you can to buy a couple, cut them into smaller chunks and freeze them until needed?

You can also buy organic frozen veggies :)

Freezing fruit works really well. For two crabs a single apple, banana, orange and coconut will easily last a year or more. Just cut it into tiny meal sized portions, freeze spread out on a cookie sheet so they don't stick together, and bag them up the next day. When you need fruit for dinner just take one frozen piece out and put it in the tank to defrost. If you have a deep freeze it will stay fresh for longer!

They love dried fruits too like raisins, cranberries and banana chips. Banana chips are easy to make yourself in the oven and will keep for awhile.

May I ask why your fam doesn't eat fruits and veggies? Just my opinion but I think it would also be important that YOU get good nutrition as well? Maybe you could use the crabs as a catalyst to start eating some yourself even if the rest of your fam won't. Like maybe buy a few bannana and carrots etc each week and cut some every night and make a portion for your self as well as the crabbies and that way none would waste and you'd be doing something good for yourself as well as setting an example for everyone else in your home. Sorry if I'm overstepping but my mothering instinct is strong sometimes lol :)
