Safe Rock?

So, basically what I want to know if a rock is usable or not.
I collected it from the shores of La Playa De Carmen (Cancun) and want to try using it in my tank.

It almost looks like live rock for a saltwater tank, but not.
The rock is gray and white, and has green areas on it,
I currently don’t have a picture, but will try to get one.

Would using anything else be acceptable for the crabs?
There’s a collection of yellow seaweed and kelp on the shores, and the white sand.

As long as you treat it like anything else you wpukd put in with your crabs. I dont see a problem.

Rocks, kelp, and sand can all be baked to sterilize them if collected outdoors.

I don’t know what the yellow seaweed is, so I don’t know how safe it is.

Thanks, everyone!
I am looking to create a split sectioned tank, half beach and forest.
The beach is supposed to be rocky and sparse of plants, but the forest opposite.

It all depends on where you plan to use them in your tank. If you plan to place them on the substrate, then just let them air dry in the sun. If you are wanting to place them in water, then I would boil them in fw and then they would be fine :)
