how to do freeze dried food?

Post by ciaraalston » Wed Aug 01, 2018 6:15 am

For those of you that buy fresh fruits and veggies and freeze dry them yourselves, how does that work? Do you have a special thing that does that, or a quick DIY? What should i buy to do this? My crabs apparently don't like fresh bananas, so i'm thinking of trying it myself until i can find a whole foods store with organic freeze dried items

I’m unsure about how to freeze dry stuff but you can use a dehydrator to dry foods like fruits and veggies and meats

I bagged them all up and plopped right into the freezer, it's too simple.
You can do fruits and vegetables in the oven, but you have to check on them often, and it's more work than a dehydrator.

I haven't found a way to do it yourself. You would have to buy a freeze-dryer, which you could probably buy for the same price as a used car. My Wal-Mart seems to have a good selection of freeze-dried food, though!

I found freeze dried fruits at my Target if that helps any. I don’t know how to DIY it
