Didn't see on safe food list, but I was wondering if the meat, skin, and/or scales from bluegills is safe for my purple pinchers. I've had them 5 or 6 years now & they are still growing.
Thanks for any responses

Generally if the fish is safe for you, it’s also safe for the crabs.

Thanks JoeHermits for your response.
I need to add blue gill eggs to my question.
Where they were caught is clean water.
Has anyone else fed them fish they had caught?
Thanks

Re: Bluegill meat, skin, and scales?
My father is a fisherman. I have fed my crabs fish that he has caught out of the ocean. You need to just be mindful of where they are fished from. For example, there are quite a few lakes and rivers that are near power plants or that are heavily populated by boats or that are known by us locals to be heavily polluted. I wouldn't feed my hermits anything from those areas. People that aren't from my area probably wouldn't know that.
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com
