Food[emoji23]

Post by Hermielover121 » Tue Jun 02, 2020 1:57 pm

So when I went to change my hermies food today I noticed that their favourite food mix was knocked over and spilled half of it out ( they do that when they eat it) and they had barely touch the food that I put in last night and now it’s all moldy.Image
Also there is a bunch of mold all over the surface do you guys know why that’s happening I don’t spray and the humidity is usually in the 80s. It usually happens every 1 to 2 days and I always spot clean and pick out all the mall but I was just keeps coming back. Do you think this is a problem?

Mold is going to happen eventually due to the heat and humidity. To reduce the amount of growth you can mix saltwater into your substrate or lower your humidity.

If mixing isn’t an option you can spray, but don’t do it more than once. You can get salt buildups that way.

Thanks
I am afraid to add more water to the substrate since when I first mix it I had a lot of water and I don’t want a bacterial bloom. But I will try spraying hopefully it works. Those silly crabs

If any food gets spilled onto the sub, it's eventually going to mold in the heat and humidity. I often find little bits of mold here and there, likely from food that I didn't realize was there. It's not a big deal, just keep spot cleaning.
