I often have overripe fruit and veggies. I had rotting banana before so I gave a piece to bubbles mushed up in a water bottle cap (Disposable bowl
) I wanted to save some for another day because I still had a lot left
I didn't know where to put it so I put it in the fridge it got slimy ew
I did not want to give that to bubbles. Is it okay to freeze some rotting fruits and veggies and give bubbles
the frozen fruit/veggies? Any ideas of how to preserve fruits and veggies for my Hermie?

Somethings can be frozen (ie- banana, grapes). Meat can be frozen of course, cooked or raw.
Some things need to be blanched prior to freezing (many vegetables, such as peas, carrots, etc).
Some things will need to be dried. Usually a dehydrator is needed for this.
Probably looking up a human food website that discusses food preservation would be the best bet.

Yeah, small amounts of frozen food will thaw pretty quickly in the tank.

Frozen veggies are great to offer hermits. We usually pick up peas, sweet corn, sweet potatoes and butternut squash from Aldi's. The nice thing is the sweet potatoes and squash come cubed in the bag. We simply pull one cube out at a time. If it's a smaller tank we can use a sharp knife and cut it into smaller pieces! The other plus is you can place them in frozen an hour or so before your crabs venture out for the night. That gives everything time to thaw!
We usually offer fruits and veggies that are starting to get funky. Still going to be ok for us to eat for a day, but is starting to wrinkle. Putting that type of fruit like strawberries in the tank it will usually grow mold in less than 24 hours. Some things stay better than others.

I personally wouldn't offer rotting food only because I'd be afraid of bugs...I do know that they love that in the wild!
