Greensand pellets

Hi everyone,

I recently ordered a 30 lb bag of greensand from Walmart online. I just got it today. I opened it up, and it's in pellet form! I thought I was getting 30lbs of actual greenSAND. I'm going to return it, because the description and pic didn't say it was in pellet form. I paid over $54 for the bag and don't want to open it to find out the hermits don't like it.
I was just curious if anyone else has ever seen greensand in pellet form.

Never seen that before, and it certainly doesn't say it is pellets! You could write a review to inform others - altho if people are using it for plants, maybe it doesn't matter LOL.

Curly, writing a review is def a good idea. I'll attach a pic of the product I received, which says "Pelletized Mineral Supplement" on the bag. I've got it all packed up to take back to Walmart next week. You're right, most people probably wouldn't care if they're just fertilizing plants with it. Don't they know there are crazy crab people out there with picky crabs that want the sand and not the pellets? LOL ImageImage

Provided it's an all natural product, can it be used as is even though it's not sand consistency? I'm guessing the pellets would break down into dust?

Yeah, that's what I was wondering...

I was thinking about grinding them up too. But then I was worried if my food processor or coffee bean grinder isn't strong enough to break the pellets down, I will have opened that huge bag for nothing, and wouldn't be able to return it. It cost $54 plus tax, so I just didn't want to waste that much money.
I'm having a hard time finding greensand. The sellers on Amazon don't have good ratings. I've found a couple of online stores too, but their ratings aren't great either. I haven't found any in local stores either.

There are some etsy sellers that have it, because i was like "greensand? what the heck is that for?" but i don't know what your tolerance is for shipping costs.. etsy can be pricey

i have no idea how it stacks up to what you are looking for but could look at agron.com they at least say it's a sand consistency.. but i don't know about their CS or pricing or ingredients.

Thanks so much! I actually checked them out, thought I did anyway, and saw they had bad reviews. I just went back and saw I was looking at reviews for Argon not Agron. Oops! I'll see what info I can find and if they're reputable. Thanks again!

Check plant nurseries where you live. There's a few near me that carry the full Espoma line, and if anyplace had the smaller bags of sand it would be a place like that.

Thanks Wodes! I checked Home Depot and Lowe's and no luck. Will def try a local nursery instead. Image
