So I have 4 dogs and I feed raw frozen dog food. Their are little to no synthetic vitamins added and has a few protein sources. Is it safe for hermit crabs? I am constantly getting freeze-dried treats for my dog also like beef liver, beef heart, minnows, and salmon. Is it safe to be giving these things to the crabs as long as they dont have preservatives and are just the meat and nothing added?
The frozen dog food I use is the turkey and sardine primal pronto frozen dog food and I also use Steves turducken raw frozen dog food.
Just curious as this way I can give them a little morsal every now and then for something different.
Thank you in advance.

Yeah! That sounds like it's crab safe. Lots of crabbers use the freeze dried treats, and the food sounds very similar.

Thank you! I show my dogs and am constantly doing training therefore I am constantly getting treats, and I am always checking the ingredient panel as I am picky about what my dogs eat as they are not going to eat corn, wheat, or soy treats! So, the treats I always get are almost always 100% meat that is freeze-dried. Currently I have kangaroo, rabbit, beef hearts, beef liver, salmon (with skin on), minnows, chicken breast, Stella and Chewys carnivore crunch treats (grass fed beef recipe), and origen original freed-dried dog treats. I am so glad to know that I can give them this stuff because I have it on hand at all times for the dogs!

My lord! I'd never heard of kangaroo treats for a dog, let alone for a crab! Sounds great.

Kangaroo has become an option for dogs and cats with food sensitivities. It tends to also be a great novel (as in new) food trial protein, because the goal is to put them on ingredients that they've never been exposed to before, and therefore can't be allergic to, to see if it fixes whatever health issue is suspected of being diet related. Alligator was another surprising option that we were told about, though we were able to go with rabbit, venison and bison instead.

Back in 1999/2000 I had a chocolate lab with terrible food allergies. I remember trying a kangaroo based food back then, and remember how freaking expensive it was!!

I can imagine! Just for 4oz ish of freeze-dried kangaroo is around 16.99! Which actually is cheap. The raw dog food I first mentioned in the post for a 4lb bag is around $20-33!
Update: I gave the crabs some of the food and they went crazy for it!!
