HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I received this food with an adoption. I’m not sure whats in it. I can see dandelions, snake shed, walnuts, what looks like bee pollen, some sort of dried fruit?, and some hard white stuff which I’m not sure what it is?? A lot of this stuff is good I just have no idea what the hard white “pebbly” bits are or the type of fruit. I’m sure it’s probably fine but I can’t find anyone selling anything like it as far as I can find.

Hard white pebbles in crab food can be anything from millet to beans and I can't really tell what the hard white pebbles you have are from that photo

Here’s some closer up shots of the ingredients. On a second look the yellow is also little beans or seeds.

My guess is that it's from https://www.hermieskitchen.com/, before they shut down. (I haven't ordered from them, but I spent hours browsing their site and was about to put in an order.) They sold "build your own mason jar meals," named by the 'base' (in this case, snakeskin). Unfortunately, because it wasn't a preset mix, I can't tell you what the ingredients would be. Sorry!

On second thought, could the white pebbles be oyster shells?

I cant be sure what the white pebbles are. They could be shells or some other kind of calcium. It's probably fine to give them if it's from a hermit crab online store, but if your uncomfortable giving them something unknown then you could always pick them out.

Yeah, it does look like crushed oyster shells. I’ve never ordered it but looks the same as photos.

Thanks! I figured it would be safe foods as it appears to be a custom hermit mix, I just feel better knowing at least an idea of what it could be. It looks like good stuff so I don’t want to waste it.
