Can hermit crabs have Ornamental/Indian Corn?

Post by coolcrab98 » Mon Apr 29, 2024 4:40 pm

Just finished planting ornamental, commonly called “Indian” corn in my garden when I began to wonder if hermit crabs can have it? I looked through some forms and nothing was mentioned about it (unless I missed it). I’ve seen they can have regular yellow corn, but they’re different species, so I just wanted to make sure. I have Purple Pinchers if that changes anything.

Corn is all the same species and is all crab safe, but there are different varieties (cultivars) that are aimed at different uses. Ornamental corn (aka flint corn) is used dry as cornmeal or popcorn.
