Can hermit crabs eat clam shells?

I saw on the safe food list that hermit crabs can eat clams and I was wondering if they could also eat the shell as a replacement for cuttlebone

yes! Though mine get quite lazy with bigger items like that or even seeds so if you are able to grind a portion of it up, that may help

I use clam shells as dishes for food, and I noticed mine like to nibble bits of the edges the shell. Good source of calcium!
