I'm doing some research for a project and one of the questions i've stumbled upon is would specific species of crabs prefer different foods, or is it different through individual crabs?
For reference, the species i'm mainly interested in is purple pinchers, and I was wondering if they had specific tastes from other crabs. Any answer would help me greatly!
Do different crab species prefer different foods?

Re: Do different crab species prefer different foods?
For US crabbers, purple pinchers are what all generalized crabbing info is based on. And honestly, they'll pretty much eat anything provided. Crabs will have some individual preferences though, and that can change over time so just because they don't like something now doesn't mean they won't pig on it after 5 tries or in a month or two.
