Kidney beans safe?

Should I give my hermies kidney beans, or are those not a safe food? They're not mentioned on either the good or the bad food lists on Epicurean Hermit.

I'm not sure.

Quite a few beans are not mentioned on the safe food list... I was wondering the same thing about lima beans.

They are safe...and packed with protien! My crabs are totally fond of them cooked, so I grind up some uncooked beans & add it to whatever else is in their dish that day.

Yes, I've fed kidney beans and been fine. They really love garbonzo beans too!

AVOID canned beans! salt and metal--yuck!
