I didn't see mealworms or grasshoppers on either the safe food list or the unsafe list. Is it okay to feed hermies these? Has anybody had good or bad results from trying either? Thanks!

Both of them are safe! I have given my crabs dried mealworms and they love them. Just make sure they are 100% mealworms or grasshoppers and they don't have any other ingredients. I ordered 1/2 pound on eBay for around 12 bucks. My crabs love them plus they are getting a lot of protein.

Mine ate crickets and mealworms when they were in a Turtle Medley along with freshwater shrimp, but when I couldn't find the medley and bought them straight mealworms they haven't touched them.

They are PICKY little things!

But yes, dried insects in the reptile section are safe, but every crab is completely different in what they will eat when.

Yes! I bought my beardie a food mix of dried meal worms, cricket, and grasshoppers. She won't touch the stuff (likes her live food better) so I give the crabs a couple of bugs every night and they always drag them out and hide them throughout the 'tat. It is so cute, and a great protein source.

I gave mine some live mealworms in a bowl they couldn't escPe from. One of my crabs, Trouble, went right over, caught one in her claws and squeezed it. My little brother and I watched her eatalive. It was cool and disgusting at the same time. The poor worm was squirming and wriggling and trying to escape the crabs death grip

I gave mine some of the dead ones in those cans, both crickets and mealworms, they love both of them
