Lid for a 20 Gallon High??

Post by Bean2011 » Tue Apr 04, 2017 2:05 pm

does anyone have any suggestions for what type of lid I should get for a 20 gallon high tank? I'm going to check the dimensions of a few I saw online. Just wanted to see if there were ones that stood out to anyone? Also I have a 10 gallon tank as well, if I were to set that one up would a regular aquarium hood with lights be ok to use as a lid?

You will do best if you know what brand aquarium you have, and then the dimensions and look it up by that :) I prefer glass lids myself, they are best at keeping the heat and humidity in. You cannot use heat lamps on them though, they will crack. It really boils down to personal preference, and the ability to keep the heat and humidity in. Both of those are very important to the hermit crabs' well being.
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

I make my own lids using window kits... Keep in mind I use lights for heat. Lights work better with screens.

Thanks guys! I wish I knew what brand my one tank is; however, it was from my dad's friend who used to breed fish. It almost looks like it was a custom build but it's pretty close to a 20 gallon high.

Here is a site that has different "brand" measurements. Maybe it'll help determine what brand you have... http://www.aquariumdimensions.com
