Best air pump, tubing, and air stone?

Post by Artistmom81 » Tue Jul 11, 2017 9:36 pm

What brand do you use and which are your favorites ? I'm adding a bubble pool which is something new and exciting for me. Just wanted to see which brands you had the most luck with. Also, do you add rocks, shells, etc to your pools as well?

I use the single line pump rated for a 15G tank and air stones from Wal-Mart. My tubing and reducers or maybe t-valve reducer (I guess is name of it lol) came from Amazon cause I could buy it in bulk... I have a fish tank too. Been using this set-up for almost a year with no problems. I used doubled Tupperware for my pools. They base bowl has a thin layer of marbles and the top bowl has marbles and a plastic mesh ramp for access. Each pool holds about 3/4 gals of water.

Edit: here is valve reducer. It turns a single line pump into two lines and it controls the airflow (prevent over spray of salt water pool). They DO make single line reducers (and they're cheaper lol).... This was just more convenient for me.... I'll add pics of my pools once the sun is back up!

Here's a pic of my pools... One tubing line from the pump then it splits off to each pool. Each pool air stone can be reduced/adjusted. For some reason the salt pool sprays/splashes more than the fresh. Hope that helps ;)

Absolutely those look great! I as going to ask about those little glass stones. I have one little guy that will need something at the bottom.

I used marbles... Different colors to tell them apart - blue for salt and red for fresh. You can also use shells or pebbles (bigger ones like stones I guess). You'll also want to create a ramp of some sort. Many use plastic canvas or mesh which was is also pictured. This can be found at a craft store - usually with the yarn stuff.
