Humidity without a humidifier

I need help. My tank's humidity is dropping below 50. I have a 20 gallon tank with a mesh lid. I use a 100w moon glow heat light to keep the heat around 75.
What's the best way to keep the humidity up without using a humidifier? I'm going to the store in the morning to purchase moss. Will that do the trick? Do I need to use a solid lid instead of mesh?

You can seal the mesh of the lid with plastic or get plexi glass from a hobby store and tape it on. Make sure the seal is complete. They won't siffocate. And yes, moss will then help. Make sure though it's the right type of moss.

Try sealing it up first, and if that doesn't get you where you want to be, consider installing a bubbler (like with a small air pump & airstone for an aquarium). With deep enough bowls and a sealed top these are often successful at generating enough humidity. Moss is great, don't get me wrong - but it's powers are limited.

I would recommend using a ziplock freezer bag to seal the lid up quickly! I find that they're very easy to cut to size and tape down, and the plastic is thick enough that it provides a good seal. They're what I use to seal my own tanks.

I agree with all of the above. Sealing the lid would be priority. Adding a moss pit would also help as well as a bubbler pool. Also, not sure what kind of sub you are using but you can add an extra layer of Eco Earth moistened -without packing it down in case u have any molters , u don’t want to disturb or collapse any caves/tunnels.)

I used the ziplock freezer bags and made a bubbler and it's working out wonderfully. Thank you!
