Ultratherm a little too big

Post by SinkoiSunshine » Sun Feb 11, 2018 1:59 pm

So I just got my Ultratherm and discovered that it hangs off the back of the tank about an inch or so on both sides. Can I still use this? Does it pose any safety hazards? Should I still insulate it with Reflectix?

Its still fine to use... just DONT BEND/CUT the sides.. (AT ALL!) Bending the sides can cause the wires to snap, potentually becoming a fire haxard. And cutting it, same deal applies.

You can still insulate it, but you just have to be careful you don't bend in the sides. :)

Also, if it gets too hot for your tank, you can always purchase a thermostat for it. Hey - one of these days you might upgrade your tank and need the larger :)

Edit: Some people use rheostats too :)
