items from snake tank to crab tank?

Post by ciaraalston » Mon Aug 20, 2018 2:16 am

My boyfriend and I have a ball python that we've had since she was a few weeks old. She's had a tree in her tank the entire time. We recently took it out because she's getting big and her new hide wouldn't fit with the tree. Should i rinse this tree off and add it to the tank? It's huge and would look great in my 55! shouldn't be any issues right?

Personally, I do a scrub down of anything transferring tanks just for safety. I am a magnet for GI illnesses, so I just try to make sure my reptiles don't cross contaminate the other enclosures to cut down on any potential problems.

I would clean it, you never know what a snake could transfer to the crabs, it’s always worth it being safe :)

Thanks yall. I'll be sure to scrub it well and make sure it's clean. I wanted to wash it, but i wasn't sure if i needed any extra precautions. :)
It's actually bigger than i thought, so i'll have to rearrange quite a bit to get it to fit correctly. I want to wait until my Es come back up though, because i'll be adding more substrate as well.
