Review My Crabitat (Updated)
So I made a few changes after my initial post. I added deeper water dishes, I got Aqueon water conditioner, I got some organic carrots, green bell pepper, grape tomatoes, and non-organic strawberries, and I added a cholla log for extra climbing. What do you guys think?

Looks great, but I wouldn’t feed nonorganic food. I don’t even eat nonorganic food because of all the herbicides and fungicides they use.

Thank you! I bought the veggies at Walmart and unfortunately, they don't have a big organic section so I opted for the only strawberries they had. I did wash them with water though so hopefully that got most of the pesticides off.HermitofHermitCrabs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 11:53 pmLooks great, but I wouldn’t feed nonorganic food. Unfortunately, washing doesn’t get rid of most of the poisons and chemicals on nonorganic fruits and vegetables. Once I saw what was sprayed on them I quit eating them about 5 years ago.

Organic is ideal but not everyone has ready access to it. My own crabs have definitely not had an organic diet.

I feed mostly organic, but of course sometimes what you need/ want isn't available or is too expensive. So some non-organic is fine.

I had trouble affording organic and non-gmo goods until I stopped eating out.curlysister wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 9:49 amI feed mostly organic, but of course sometimes what you need/ want isn't available or is too expensive. So some non-organic is fine.

Looks Nice! What type of lighting do you use?

Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
The lighting is simply two LEDs attached to the lid.
They came with the aquarium which was from Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture ... g/35326017

Great question! I have pebbles at the edge so the crab can get in and out without any issues!GotButterflies wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 2:08 pmLooks nice! Do your crabs have a way to get in and out of your pools?

Do the pebbles move though? If the pebbles move that might not be enough. It is possible for crabs to drown.

Re: Review My Crabitat (Updated)
I think the pebbles/rocks are packed in tightly enough to serve as a secure enough base for maneuver.GotButterflies wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:52 amDo the pebbles move though? If the pebbles move that might not be enough. It is possible for crabs to drown.

You would be really sad if you found a drowned crab.
You can use craft mesh, and fish tank decor for them to get in and out of their pools with.
