Hi guys

ive got 4 crabbies and have been waiting a long time to clean the tank out because 2 of the crabbies are almost always under ground.. I've only got 1 isolation tank can they both be in there together if I do find that they are molting or can I put one in a large Tupperware or something along those lines? Also how exactly will I know if they are molting or not? I've always waited until they came up to clean but I'm guessing they're only coming out at night now so I'm a bit lost, I also think waiting any longer isn't a great idea

If there are bits of exo around them they definitely molted, otherwise it’s hard to tell. If you do dig them up you’d have to keep them separate until they’re moving around like they normally do.

Why do you feel that you need to deep clean your tank? Is there something in particular happening, that you need to do more than surface clean?

Nothing in particular, but I do see them drag their food into burrows so I worry about their sand/dirt getting pretty gross. Should I not worry about doing a change out unless they're all up? I normally do them every 3-6 months. It's been about 7 months now. Also, can I "top off" their dirt/sand mixture if I don't do a deep clean? It's starting to get a bit low

Yup! You can sprinkle some on, especially when no one is under. And deep cleans can be stressful so it’s generally recommended only to deep clean when there’s a flood, a bacterial bloom, or a harmful infestation : ) Saves time and money too!
