Mold growing on wood

I've had my crabs for about a month and I've been noticing mold (or what I think it is) growing on the wood logs I have for them. Is there anyway to fix it or do I need to get new wood? Will this cause long term harm to the crabs? And is there a way to prevent it before it happens?

Mold is not harmful to crabs. Take the wood items out (careful if they are poked down into the sand and there are any crabs underground), and soak or boil them in heavily salted water. You can use tap water and kitchen salt. Then allow them to fully dry before putting them back in the tank.

I did that and it was fine for a bit but now there is a lot more mold. I removed the wood from the tank and checked the area around it which was fine. But now I'm wondering if I should just throw the thing away considering how much mold is on it and how much trouble it's giving me.

Might be worth tossing if it's not playing well in the crabitat.

I will say I have massive mold issues if I don't aggressively salt treat. One pound of salt per gallon of water, boil for 15 minutes, allow to dry fully before being put back in (can take days). I'll also preclean the surface by scrubbing with hydrogen peroxide or bleach on the moldy spots.
