(Note the sarcasm? )
Well we figured out the little pest's aren't fruit flies. and theres tons of them. So, we got two bags of play sand (13 dollars in total - thats really cheap) & we're going to remove the eco earth little by little so we don't disturb any of the crabs and we'll bag it up .. then put it outside for a few days where rain / snow can't get too it. (its too cold for anything like that to survive out there) we're going to clean the tank out and everything in it really well, and we're going to move the eco earth over some more and add alot more sand. (It'll be mostly sand now) I also need to clean out the ISO so all the crabs can have a place to house for 1 - 2 days. (20 crabs = can survive in 10 gallon for one(or two) day(s)?)
Anyway. I'll take some before & after pictures, because I plan to remodel the tank once its done! I have good plans. (I'm going to try and anchor in the climbing wall so that megatron can't rip it off.)
We're going to boil / clean everything....
is there anything I should be doing besides this..?
(By the way: the signature isn't correct - I'll re count the crabs. I've been forgetting to update it ^_____^;; )
Oh, this is going to be Funnnn.
Sounds good on getting rid of the buggers. As far as the 20 crabs in a 10g for a couple days, they can manage, but it'll be tight, especially if you have anything over smalls. If you have anything bigger than a small, I'd say you'd be better off coming up with a heating solution for a big blue storage bin instead and just keep the lid on and mist a lot for heat/humidity.
I finished it last night (I had started on Wensday) And there all back In the main tank. I had put about 13 micros into the 10g and 8 or so crabs in the other(Megatron takes up 2 gallons).
There enjoying It and I'll get some pictures up of what it looked like before & After later on. :3
Edit: They came back last night. my sister and me were smashing them anytime we saw them (there were only a few) and I checked online. I think there the Fungus gnats or whatever. we're going to get some sticky traps and put it in the highest part of the tank (we don't have a lid) where the crabs can't get it and then hopefully they'll go away...permanently!
