When I fixed up my new 20L a couple of days ago, I decided to switch to sand. I put it in, mixed it with some salt water and build a couple of sand castles to make sure it was good. I have sprayed the top a couple of times but I think it might be too dry. I can put my finger in it and the hole stays but one of my E's was digging in the corner and as she was digging the sand kept coming down on top of her so she eventually stopped and got out of the hole. I'm not sure if she was just digging for fun or what. I'm not sure what to do.
On a side note, I was sitting on the floor watching my gang tonight and noticed that the E in question was in a different shell than she was in earlier. She was also sitting next to a completely different shell than she was in earlier too. She proceeded to climb on top of it, roll it around, put her head all the way inside it, and change into it right in front of me. It was the coolest thing ever. I said out loud how cool that was and then realized that I was talking to myself because my daughter is in bed and my husband is at work. Thank goodness they weren't around, they would have thought I lost my mind, lol.

Buy a 2" pool (sold on Petdiscounters.com) and rig up and air hose, pump, with a small airstone. This will cause the pool to bubble and splash water droplets onto the sand keeping it moist. I have done this for over 3 years and it works great and it's cheap to set up. It keeps my humidity around 80-85% as well.
