Straws and moss pits

Post by Guest » Fri May 29, 2009 8:31 pm

Do your Straws ever use a moss pit? I have never seen my large Straw ever hang out in it. I'm creating a tank for the Straws and wondering If a moss pit is really necessary.

I haven't had my two straws that long, but I saw my biggest straw in the hammock/net moss pit earlier tonight :) First time I've seen him climb anything ... but he just came up from his molt after being down for 3 weeks.
Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.

My straws spend a lot of time in the moss pits! They seem to really like it up there.

My straws love the moss pits I have - but my other hermies (mostly ruggies, indos and violas) are in there more i.e. camp out there and don't leave!

I think for any species it takes the crabs a long time to find out that the moss pit exists and that it is enjoyable!

I had my moss pit for almost a year and I'd never see any crabs in it. Now, the small Ruggies and Ecuadorians hang out in it every day! :D I think it just depends on when they find it and such. :glasses7:
