20g tall with lid

Post by GotButterflies » Sat Nov 05, 2016 10:01 am

I don't think your tank is too crowded ~ the crabs need lots of places to hide and be active. You are doing a great job!

Paradi~ my crabs still run from me and I never even mess with them! I've had mine for 5 years. I do keep mine in a room where there is not a lot of activity though, so I am the elephant in the room!

So I come home from work and these hermies have been busy..there is a hole in the corner by the big food shell, and whatever this is..Image in between the glass and rock cave. Looks like maybe Persephone has to dig her way out? Bellatrix, Dixon and Persephone all pile in the rock cave though I have no idea how they fit. She is sitting inside a bigger shell opening..ImageI just misted the tank that's what the water is on the glass

It's so warm when I open the tank now. I wish my therm/hygro would get here so I know if my numbers are right

Got some new shells from Richard's today, 2 land snail shells for bellatrix(that's what kind her painted shell is that she won't change out of, so I'm hoping she will swap for a unpainted one) a polished magpie for Persephone since its her favorite and a pretty banded turbo.

Oh yeah, so apparently someone is under and took to scratching the glass, you know that sandy digging sound?, and woke me up the times in the night. I really think that sound is similar to nails on a chalkboard...lol

So a little rant, dint know of this will be taken off our if it's against rules, but I ordered from Hermies kitchen two paychecks ago(biweekly pay) and still do not have the order. I had to order from Hugs for Hermits off eBay Friday and got the order today. I an very disappointed here, I heard such good things. At least my crababies are getting a great tonight, I ordered their first worms...

Depends on which shells you mean...all the green turbos I got from joann fabrics, the rest came from the different places, Richards seashells, etsy(Florida shells& gifts I think) and ebay. If you are asking about the the in the most recent picture those came from the etsy lady. Thank you, I wish I could get sizes correct, I hate paying shipping fees and hcp has that shell sizer but s&h is so expensive

I was thinking the same thing. I bought a few off Amazon but I paid 12$ for my favorite one and they don't use it! I'm meaning to print off the crab sizing chart and one by one try and size them. Then measure the opening of the shells I have and the ones they have used before. Well, all in an attempt to buy some sizes up for my herd.
